DISTRICT MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: Regional Director

FLSA Status: Exempt

JOB PURPOSE: At its core, the role of a Rent-A-Center District Manager is to demonstrate the highest quality leadership and positive coaching skills which demonstrate respect and fairness while motivating store teams to personal and corporate success. Effectively communicate the company’s One Company One Vision business expectations, motivating, driving and supporting the company culture through Store Managers to achieve maximum productivity, including activities in the Financial Services operations whenever applicable. Implement Situational Frontline Leadership skills to lead team to attain growth and profit goals. Support Rent-A-Center’s commitment to a diverse workforce serving a diverse customer base through the attraction, training, development and retention of a diverse, quality workforce. All responsibilities are to be accomplished consistent with the RAC Mission Statement and Core Values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (KRAs):

Achieve planned results for sales measured by: customer growth, SMRR growth, same store sales and sequential rental revenue growth as set by the company quarterly through flawless execution of the Game Film program, Company Standard Lead Log, and Sales Observation and Coaching Guides.

Provide leadership, monitoring and training required to ensure stores comply with established procedures and practices for collections. Achieve credit and collection targets as set by the company using the Account Management Observation and Coaching Guides.

Achieve planned gross profit for district as measured by total revenue minus product costs, rental losses and service expense.

Ensure timely, quality, right staffing of stores through approved employment practices, compliance with company policies and legal requirements, and support the company’s commitment to maintain a diverse work force.

Ensure effective training and development for all Store Managers and coworkers in the district. Maintain updated Coworker Development and Succession Log to monitor the district coworkers’ performance and the number and quality of promotable coworkers in the district.

Maximize retention of Store Managers and all district coworkers; demonstrate continual improvement in reducing turnover, Store Manager churn and coworker complaints by ensuring a positive and productive work environment. Demonstrate Situational Frontline Leadership skills.

Ensure timely and effective execution and compliance of all company programs, policies and processes including: Role of the District Manager, all spend management programs, store supplies, travel policy, store facilities maintenance, and any newly developed and communicated company programs.

Demonstrate through example, a commitment to exceptional customer service. Execute the company’s Greet Ask Show Close sales process. Improve sales experience by coaching Game Film shops with a sense of urgency timely. Resolve problems and complaints quickly to avoid serious problems.

Protect company assets thru flawless execution of the Role of the DM. Conduct quarterly audits, maintain inventory control and expense management.

Provide leadership and management to ensure all stores" merchandising, cleanliness, and overall appearance comply with company programs and present the best possible appearance to the customer.

Ensure effective inventory management as demonstrated by timely review and execution of all Inventory Management Tool processes (IMT). Conduct a scanned inventory audit in each store monthly.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Successful record as an RTO manager.

Completion and certification of RAC’s District Manager Development Program (DMDP).

Trained in Situational Frontline Leadership skills.

Proven and effective supervision skills.

Understand the management of budgets and P&Ls.

Proven ability to network, recruit, train, develop and promote coworkers.

Friendly with exceptional communication skills.

Organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.

Computer literacy/proficiency in a windows operation system.

Travel to include overnight travel to locations in district.
